With the students in the European section, we are learning about the 13 original colonies of the United States and asking the question: Why do we move?

Students have chosen one of the original colonies to research and are going to present a presentation (using Prezi or another powerpoint-type presentation) in English. Here is the Prezi that explains the project. I can't wait to see what the students do!

The New School Year

Well, this school year has been a whirlwind so far! Time is going quickly but we are still working on lots of cool projects. The first things we did in 6th-grade was learn a fun song!
In 7th grade, we are learning about school in other countries using lelivrescolaire.fr, a great open-source textbook!

In 8th grade, we're singing jazz chants and learning how to make excuses and ask for help! In the European section, we're learning about the American flag and the Pledge of Allegiance. Watch this video of a homeroom period in an American middle school:

Stay tuned for more info. We'll try to keep you posted so you can follow the awesome work we're doing at Saint-Exupéry middle school!
